Background Information

Bakewell Cricket Club is a small friendly North Derbyshire club founded over 140 years ago in 1861. Since the formation of the club, its home ground has been the Rutland Recreation Ground. This picturesque ground stands by the River Wye in the heart of the historic peak district market town of Bakewell.

The Club currently plays its cricket in the Yorkshire/Derbyshire League division 2 on Saturdays and the Longstone League on Wednesday evenings. There is also an active junior quick cricket section for the younger members.
